Introduced iQOO Neo5: a gaming flagship that everyone can afford

iQOO, the gaming sub-brand of the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, has announced its new smartphone. The new product called iQOO Neo5 is a top-end smartphone based on a sub-flagship processor from Qualcomm. At the same time, unlike the flagships of competitors, it will be affordable for every buyer.

iQOO Neo5 is clad in a body with a thickness of 8.43 mm and weighs 196 g with all the filling. The back panel of the smartphone is made of frosted glass, and on the front panel there is a 6.62-inch AMOLED-display made by Samsung with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (Full HD +) with an aspect ratio of 20 to 9 and an adaptive image refresh rate of 30 Hz to 120 Hz. The display has a maximum brightness of 1300 nits and a contrast ratio of 6,000,000: 1. Above, you can see a small notch that houses a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. And on the back, a triple main camera is installed in a rectangular module, consisting of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel monochrome depth sensor for portrait photos.

The iQOO Neo5 is based on the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is an overclocked version of last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865 processor. The company has 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory expandable by installing a microSD memory card. And since the novelty is positioned as a gaming smartphone, it has not been without a cooling system. It consists of a graphite plate with a copper tube, which, according to the manufacturer, contributes to better cooling. The iQOO Neo5 is powered by the Android 11 mobile operating system with the OriginOS shell installed on top, and its autonomy is supported by a 4400 mAh rechargeable battery with support for 66 W fast charging via the USB Type-C port. From wireless connections, the new product supports 4G LTE, 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi. Other features include a fingerprint scanner and face recognition function.

iQOO Neo5 is already available for pre-order in China and will start on March 22nd. Prices start at 2499 yuan, or $ 384 for the 8/128 GB version, and go up to 2999 yuan, or $ 460 for the 12/256 GB model.
